Guidelines For Video

Important

Important: Your video should not exceed 40 minutes, so there is no need to perform on both sides of the body (right/left). Instead, focus on showcasing various techniques and positions on different body areas for a more impressive performance.

Before recording and uploading, practice your performance program multiple times. Clear your workspace of obstacles and distractions, creating an aesthetically pleasing environment. Ensure both you and your client look presentable.

Please note that this is a video performance and not a clinical treatment. You must showcase your unique massage style, design skills, and special consideration for your client to entertain and impress the judges."

Rules for shooting and editing

  • Videos should be shot in landscape mode.

  • Video Length: The maximum length is 40 minutes. Introduce yourself within the first 3 minutes, and perform the massage during the remaining 30-35 minutes. Videos longer than 40 minutes will be disqualified from the competition.

  • Frame rate: 60p is recommended, but 30p is also acceptable.

  • You should record the entire performance with one or multiple cameras in one continuous, uncut take. Editing should not disrupt the timeline of the performance.

  • A video that includes edits or cuts will result in disqualification from the competition as a penalty.

  • Image manipulation such as filters or flashy transitions is not allowed.

  • Cameras must be fixed on tripods or similar equipment for most of the performance duration.

  • The entire massage table, client, and therapist should be visible for most of the performance.

  • Limit close-ups and moving camera shots; use them sparingly to ensure judges can clearly see important details.

  • The main light source should be placed on the same side as the camera near the table to prevent excessive lighting.

  • Do not position yourself between the client and the camera; always show your front or profile to the camera.

  • Do not use background music (BGM) in the video. If background music is necessary during recording, remove it during editing.

Appearance

(1) Wear comfortable clothing suitable for performing treatments.

(2) Please prepare clean shoes with clean soles.

*Barefoot treatments are also possible.

(3) Please take care of your nails and hands in advance.

Single Camera

You can create beautiful footage with just one camera, and sometimes, simplicity can evoke even more emotion.

*When shooting with a single camera, you need to make an effort to create more attractive scenes. Ensure a clean background, place a good light source behind or beside the camera, and position the camera diagonally above the scene for filming.

Multi-camera

We value participants' efforts in creating attractive and informative videos. Using multiple cameras is a great way to achieve this. It provides the audience with a richer experience and makes it easier for judges to see the details of your treatment.

*When using multiple cameras and angles, it's essential that all cameras record the same session and that you edit within a continuous timeline. You cannot combine clips from different therapy sessions or jump in time. Additionally, transitions between clips should be either clean cuts or very brief crossfades, and avoid using flashy transition effects.

<Judging Format>

The adoption of the "Top-Bottom Cut Method."

In each category, 6 to 8 judges will evaluate on a 10-point scale based on the criteria mentioned above.

The evaluation method involves taking the total scores from each judge, excluding the highest and lowest scores, and then calculating the average of the remaining scores to determine the evaluation score. This approach is intended to ensure fairness, especially when there are a limited number of judges for a specific category.
